Additional Benefits

401(k) and Roth 401(k)

IndeVets are eligible to participate in the 401(k) and Roth 401(k) retirement plan beginning on the 31st day of employment. The company matches your contribution $1 for $1 up to the first 4% that you contribute to your retirement account. There is no vesting period. This means that the company’s contribution to your retirement is yours as soon as the contribution is made.

Health Savings Account

The HSA is a personal savings account that allows you to set aside pre-tax dollars for current and future healthcare expenses for you and your dependents. The contribution limit for 2025 is $4,300 per individual / $8,550 per family. If you are 55 years of age or over, you can contribute an additional $1,000 annually. The HSA is only available to members that are enrolled in the PPO HSA $4,000 medical plan.

Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account

The DCA allows you to withhold pre-tax dollars to apply toward child care. The contribution limit for 2023 is $5,000 per household ($2,500 for married individuals filing separately).

Short-Term Disability

IndeVets offers short-term disability (STD) through Lincoln and is 100% company-paid for full-time and part-time IndeVets. The plan pays a weekly benefits of 60% of your base salary. The maximum weekly benefit is $2,000.

Long-Term Disability

lndeVets also offers long-term disability (LTD) as a voluntary add-on benefit through SunLife. The plan pays a maximum monthly benefit of $8,000. Premiums are based on your individual application.

Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D)

Life insurance is 100% company paid, and includes $50,000 in life insurance coverage. Additional, employee-paid voluntary life insurance is also available for you and your family.

Hospital Indemnity Insurance

When you, your spouse, or child are facing a hospital stay, you can receive hospital indemnity benefits to help pay unexpected expenses not covered by your medical plan, such as lost income, childcare, deductibles, and co-pays.

Cancer Insurance

IndeVets offers cancer insurance coverage available to you and your family members that may be diagnosed with cancer. This plan pays you cash benefits for a variety of the ways your cancer is treated.

Critical Illness Insurance

Critical Illness insurance covers you, your spouse, or child when diagnosed with a covered condition. While health plans may cover direct costs associated with a critical illness, you can use this benefit to help with related expenses like lost income, childcare, travel to and from treatment, deductibles, and co-pays.

Accident Insurance

Accidents happen, and you and your family members can receive cash benefits to help cover the unexpected costs. Accident Insurance can be used however you want, and it pays in addition to any other coverage you may already have. This plan helps cover related expenses like lost income, childcare, deductibles, and co-pays.

Paid Time Off (PTO)

We recognize the importance of providing time for rest and relaxation and fully encourage you to take time off. You will receive PTO accrued on a monthly basis to use for any time off work (vacation, sick, etc.).

  • Full-time Associate IndeVets: 96 hours per calendar year
  • Part-time Associate IndeVets: 72 hours per calendar year

Continuing Education (CE) PTO

In addition to your PTO accrual, IndeVets offers dedicated CE PTO to utilize for continuing education.

  • Full-time Associate IndeVets: 24 hours per calendar year
  • Part-time Associate IndeVets: 8 hours per calendar year

Holidays

IndeVets recognizes certain holidays throughout the year where you can choose to work or not work. The holiday hours are credited toward your weekly hours, 8 hours for FT IndeVets for 4 hours for PT IndeVets for each holiday.

Parental Leave

IndeVets are eligible to receive up to 4 weeks of paid parental leave for either parent for the birth or adoption of a child. 4 weeks for FT IndeVets and 2 weeks for PT IndeVets.

Continuing Education (CE) Annual Stipend

We know that you have costs associated with the veterinary profession. As a result, we offer an annual continuing education stipend for full-time and part-time Associate IndeVets. These expenses may include RACE-approved courses/conferences, state licensure, DEA, association and membership dues, and other veterinary supplies.

  • Full-time Associate IndeVets: $2500
  • Part-time Associate IndeVets: $1,125

Pet Insurance

MetLife Pet Insurance provides among the shortest wait periods for accident and illness coverage. Accident coverage and wellness coverage (for those who select it) begin on the effective date of your policy. Illness coverage begins 14 days later.

Professional Liability Coverage

IndeVets carries professional liability insurance 100% company paid that covers you if a claim is created against you while working as an Associate IndeVet.
